Living In The Black eBook Brenda Blackmon Alyssa Curry
An outstanding "true" story, so well written that you don't want to put it down. Furthermore it gives insight into human behavior and underlying personality disturbances that are harmful to self and others. And as Brenda so well explains we need to be aware of this type of aggressiveness and take steps before it gets out of control. What makes this book so bitter sweet is that it is a true story about romance and love, but unfortunately the negative, violent behavior surfaced too often and caused irreparable damage to their marriage. Thanks to Brenda for sharing this incredible story of her life, lovers, and hardships and how she successfully moved on to a more normal lifestyle. For anyone who thought "Fifty Shades of Grey" was moving, "Living in the Black" is the real thing!Joann Christian

Living In The Black eBook Brenda Blackmon Alyssa Curry Reviews
The books was amazing!!
It was a page turner. Can't wait to hear more from the writer. It was GREAT
This book is a must read and it's worth every page! It will break your heart as well as open your eyes to the problems of domestic violence. Relationships old and new should use this book to see clearly the signs of an abusive relationship and free themselves from "Living in the Black," it's never too late. Overall, an excellent read! I recommend this book to women experiencing any kind of abuse. No woman should lose their self confidence to an unhealthy relationship!
This is a very powerful book that openly addresses the issue of domestic violence head on. Domestic violence unfortunately is plaguing our world and many victims, friends, family members, co-workers, and neighbors ignore the signs and often say nothing and or do nothing. This author took a brave step and boldly shared her personal experience as a former victim of domestic violence recounting the process she took to regain her dignity and self-confidence. Hopefully her story will encourage others in similar situations to gather their strength to make the necessary changes to stop "Living in the Black" and move forward in a positive light.
Good book well written and a message to all women in abusive relationships. Quick read I didn't want to put it down
Came fast, mom loved it
This book is an excellent and courageous documentary of how this beautiful woman found herself spiraling downward in a debilitating and shamefully abusive relationship/marriage. I applaud you Brenda, for your ability to fight through your many painful episodes of "living in the black". I admire the strength and love that your family instilled into the foundation of your inner being. It's apparent that this deeply rooted foundation of love gave you hope to take action, to trust God's Grace and the power to take back your freedom from the captivity of "the black". It's inspiring to know that you have now achieved a brighter future for yourself and precious daughter. I believe any woman who is in the throes of an abusive relationship would greatly benefit by reading this book. No one should ever experience domestic abuse!!
My heart goes out to the victim with sorrow and admiration for the courage to take a stand against domestic violence. Living in the Black by Brenda Blackmon and Alyssa Curry, is a must-read and I seek to raise awareness of this topic and resource with family and friends. It is informative and a reminder that any form of domestic violence is unacceptable. I have witnessed various forms of domestic violence growing up among relatives and associates such as threats and intimidation. Recently, I heard on the radio that verbal abuse is another form of domestic violence. As a society, we have a terrible history of sweeping subjects like this under the rug within our families. Domestic violence, and particularly physical abuse, is mentioned when it involves celebrities and sports figures. For common people, we need to engage this subject into the same conversation with dating and intimate relationships. Living in the Black is not a male-bashing tale to me because most victims in domestic violence cases are women. The book is a triumph of the human spirit which can help educate others in the hopes of eradicating and preventing this horrible scourge from becoming "the norm."
